Summary:

The study was aimed at detection of the possibilities of immediately loading the implants in toothless patients. The patients with unsuitable anatomical conditions in lower jaw were treated with two implants in the positions 33, 43. In these patients the authors did not wait the usual three months until the second phase of implantation. Spherical supra-constructions were introduced immediately after introduction of the implants and the surgical intervention was finished by a stitch. Immediately afterwards, matrixes of fast-polymerization resins were fixed into the existing prosthesis.Having removed the stitches the prostheses were directly supported by an elastic basal matter. Two months later, new prostheses were made. The group consisted of 11 patients at the age of 52 to 74 years. The values of periotest immediately after the implantation were in the range of 0–3. The implants have been under the load of hybrid prosthesis for one year and remain functional. One failure was attributed to the bone of deteriorated quality together with a less suitable type of the implant. The communications is one of the results of the Research Task of IGA NK 6065-3/2000.

Key words: immediate load – toothless jaw – implantation into bone – hybrid prosthesis
