Summary: The renal functions impairment caused by intravascular iodinated contrast media
applications is not rare complication which occurs after radiodiagnostic and interventional
procedures. The renal failure prolongs the hospitalization length, requires temporary
or permanent dialysis and increases mortality of these patients. This complication
can be prevented and risk of contrast nephropathy development should be
minimalized.
