The author discusses the two most important benign liver tumours which develop on a hepatocel- lular basis - focal nodular hyperplasia and hepatocellular adenoma. The author describes in detail changes observed on the US, CT and MR image. He emphasizes also the morphological and anatomical features of these tumourous processes. Correct understanding of diagnostic possibili- ties and limitations of different methods is the crucial factor in differential diagnostic considera- tion.
