In Prague health facilities (faculty hospitals grade II and III) in the course of the ten-year existence of the Health Insurance Company repeated checks of provision and reporting of health care provided to clients of the General Health InsuranceCompany were made, as regards volume and quality. The result of controls of data, verified in the documentation of health institutions is the finding of some general and for some health institutions specific shortcomings which are discussed in detail with reference to the causes of the majority of shortcomings in the conclusion. Mutual discussions between providers of health care and the General Health Insurance Company should be implemented by agreements and should not be conceived as revision-repression- defence.
