Summary:
Erythema nodosum (EN) is a cutaneous reaction consisting of inflammatory and tender nodular lesions, usually
located on the anterior aspects of the lower extremities. The disorder may be associated with a wide variety
of diseases, such as infections, sarcoidosis, inflammatory bowel diseases, medications, malignancies and
autoimmune diseases. About half of the EN cases are idiopatic. The authors present a case report of two
young women with erythema nodosum, where the underlying condition was pulmonar sarcoidosis.
