Summary:
The hatchet flap, well known for repair of the nasal pyramid, laterofacial defects and pressure sores, is used to
reconstruct different aesthetic units of the face. The authors describe the surgical technique and its clinical applications
to the different face subunits in 38 patients, highlighting the easy learning curve, the versatility of the flap
and the good aesthetic results when the principles of the facial units are respected. No previous detailed report has
been described in the literature.
