Summary:
For assessment of objectives of quality, its maintenance, control and monitoring a number of sophisti-
cated methods incl. statistical ones were elaborated and are used. The author describes some of these
tools which belong to the basic equipment of modern management. The mentioned procedures are
explained on actual examples incl. the transfusion service. The majority of the described tools has
a wide application in the whole theory and practice of management, not only quality control. „The
basis of high standard of quality management is to establish the quality aims and quality policy." The
author mentions the advantages of team work, describes briefly Deming’s cycle. The basic tool for
systematic and independent investigation of the achieved quality level are audits. The author describes
seven simple tools for improvement of quality: 1. developmental diagram, 2. recorders, 3. histogram,
4. Ishikawa diagram, 5. Paret’s graph, 6. point (correlation) diagram and 7. regulation diagram
(statistical regulation of the process).
