Summary:
In the article there is considered the obtaining of an informed consent in children. That follows
from a consideration of the verdict in Gillick vs. West Norfolk, as well as from the Helsinki
Declaration, the Ottawa Declaration of the WMA on the rights of the child in health care in
1999, and from the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine of the Council of Europe in
1997.A child is a person and therefore, it is necessary to respect its development andmaturation
to a full human being.
