Adrenomyeloneuropathy as the Cause of Addison´s Disease

Summary:

       The authors describe adrenoleukodystrophy and adrenomyeloneuropathy found in one family. This disease is a less frequent cause of Addison´s disease, but it is very serious from the prognos- tic aspect. The authors recommend therefore to examine very long chain fatty acid plasma levels in patients with adrenal insufficiency.
