Superior laryngeal nerve block for awake intubation

Summary:

       Tracheal intubation in an awake patient constitutes a distinct art and skill in airway management. This could not be accomplished without complete sensitive anesthesia. The paper presents the results from two methods applied: topical application of local anesthetic versus regional anesthesia produced by bilateral superior laryngeal nerve block.
