Summary:
Approximately 10% of all patients treated in department for treatment of addictive disorders have
university degree. Aim of our study was to ascertain influence of university education on some medical
and sociodemografic characteristics, which could influence further course of disease and prognosis.
We found out that these characteristics are not so hopefull as we should expect according to
education of this group of patients and that they will probably have negative impact on prognosis.
We discuss possible causes of this fact.We try to describe „typical“ graduate patient treated for alcohol
dependence in conclusion.
