Renal Function Tests as an Indication for Early Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Balík M. 1 , Kazda A. 2 1 General Faculty Hospital, Prague, Czech Republic 2 Postgraduate Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute, Prague, Czech Republic |
|
Summary: Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is indicated early in patients developing systemic inflammatory response/multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (SIRS/MODS) when the overall prognosis is more favourable (1). The authors attempt to define kidney functional status when the development of renal failure is inevitable and which justifies early indication for CRRT already before the usual indications for dialysis are present.
