In a short review the current knowledge about the relationship between cigarette smoking and vasculogenic impotence is introduced. Many results of the epidemio- logical, clinical and experimental studies indicated that cigarette smoking is an independent risk factor for impotence. Scientific information is important for the motivation of young men not to start smoking and for smokers’ decision to stop smoking.
