Summary: Considerable attention is paid to the problems of rectal cancer at the Surgical Clinic
of the Faculty Hospital with Policlinic in Ostrava [18, 20, 21]. A thorough preoperative
examination before the actual operation is considered self-evident, and the authors
therefore present their experience with pre-operation examination before surgical
interventions for cancer of rectum.
