Summary:

The paper evaluates morphological changes on small intestine in 162 patients indicated for enteroclysis, with a clinically suspected (group N/118) or established diagnosis of Crohn disease (group Z/44). The contribution of enteroclysis in the diagnostics of Crohn disease is analyzed in the primary detection, chronic course and the postoperative conditions in children and adults. Two radiologists made independently a retrospective analysis of X-ray findings of the examined patients. New diagnosis of Crohn diseases was established in 5.5% of the patients of the whole cohort (3 adults, 6 children), 15% of positive findings were in the chronic stage and 8.5% of nonspecific changes, no changes were detected in 71% of the patients. The resection of small intestine was followed by a relapse in 40% of patients. The analysis of findings confirmed the highest frequency of changes in the region of terminal ileum and the detection rate of the disease in the advanced stage. The most frequent types of changes included deep ulcerations and spiculas, segmental changes became manifest at the lowest rate. The authors consider as important more frequent positive findings in enteroclysis of children (41%), adults (25%) displaying general indication for examination under nonspecific symptoms.

Key words: Crohn disease – terminal ileum – relief changes – enteroclysis
