The work undertakes a problem of evaluation of a new method that provides transcutaneous penetration of a medicament – electrophonophoresis. It is based on the long-term experience in physiotherapy in the area of ionophoresis and phonophoresis. An experimental research carried out with fresh beef and pork flesh proved unanimously that the colouring agent penetrates 50 % deper in comparison to traditional methods. It is worth noticing that the above results could be obtained with the parameters of the current and ultrasound reduced by 50 % when compared to phonophoresis and electrophoresis. Therefore better tolerance of the method by patients can be expected. The clinical investigations in the group of patients with lumbal pain confirmed high therapeutic efficacy in comparison with traditional methods.
