Summary:

In this article the authors try to evaluate the benefit of Parallel Acquisition Techniques (PAT) on 1.5 T scanner with a standard equipment at the beginning of 21st century. They compare the advantages and the disadvantages of the method on the basis of a fifteen-month experience. They used 1.5 T scanner Siemens Magnetom Symphony Maestro Class equipped with standard iPAT (GRAPPA, mSENSE) with acceleration factor R=2. 2797 examinations using PAT were performed between February 2003 and May 2004: 73 exams of the heart, 169 3D-CE-MRA examinations, 185 exams of the upper abdomen and 2370 „routine“ imaging exams (2279 spine examinations, 91 joints like shoulder or hip).
