Summary:
In this article the authors try to evaluate the benefit of Parallel Acquisition Techniques
(PAT) on 1.5 T scanner with a standard equipment at the beginning of 21st century.
They compare the advantages and the disadvantages of the method on the basis of
a fifteen-month experience.
They used 1.5 T scanner Siemens Magnetom Symphony Maestro Class equipped with
standard iPAT (GRAPPA, mSENSE) with acceleration factor R=2.
2797 examinations using PAT were performed between February 2003 and May 2004:
73 exams of the heart, 169 3D-CE-MRA examinations, 185 exams of the upper abdomen
and 2370 „routine“ imaging exams (2279 spine examinations, 91 joints like shoulder or
hip).
