Summary:
We determined reference values of selected biochemical tests in serum (Na + , K + , Cl – , urea, creatinine, Mg, Ca,
phosphate, Cu, Zn, total protein, osmolality) and in urine (Na + , K + , Cl – , urea, creatinine, Mg, Ca, phosphate, Cu,
Zn, total protein, osmolality, creatinine clearance, fractional excretion of electrolytes) in 148 healthy children
(age 10–14, 96 males and 52 females). Significant differences between reference values of this age group and other
age groups were found. Significant sex related differences of reference values of S-urea , S-phosphate, S-total
protein were also found.
Key words:
paediatric reference values, renal functions, school children.
