The objective of the investigation was to study the effect of the preparation Juwim which contains a mixture of nucleotides, amino acids and oligopeptides on levels of secretory IgA in saliva of young subjects. Juwim is part of the dietary supplement Preventan. Levels of secretory IgA were investigated in saliva before administration of 1 tablet of Preventan per day for a period of 30 days and after their administration. The effect of Juwim in Preventan was compared with a preparation of similar composition as Preventan but without Juwim. For detection of secretory IgA the authors used the commercial set Binding Site ScIgA. They found that after administration of 30 tablets of Preventan containing Juwim the ScIgA levels in saliva of the examined subjects were significanly raised as compared with ScIgA levels in saliva of subjects given the preparation without Juwim.
