Summary:
The aim of this study was to compare maternal serum levels of alpha-1-fetoprotein (MS AFP) and human
chorionic gonadotrophin (MS HCG) in the 10 th – 14 th week of pregnancy assessed by Sevatest kits (SEVAPHARMA,
Czech Republic) and IMMULITE kits (Diagnostic Product Corporation, United States). We found a high corre-
lation between the two tested methods in all weeks of pregnancy (p < 0.0001). The results of maternal serum AFP
and HCG estimation obtained by Sevatest kits and IMMULITE kits are comparable.
