Summary: In a retrospective study the authors evaluate complications in 388 lumbar
sympathectomies they have performed in the period of January 1st 1998 till August 1st
2003. The significant complications included one urocele resulting from chemical necrosis
of ureter, two retroperitoneal abscesses and two cases of neuritis of n. genitofemoralis.
The overall frequency of severe complications was 0.77%.
