Summary:
Increasing the quality of healthcare at the GP's office depends on the accrediting of the
workplace, on the professional training of the staff, on instrumentation, on the spatial lay-out
of the facility, and on the quality of the managing system.
One of the paths of improving the quality of management is the introduction of assuring quality
according to ISO 9001 and consequent certification of the healthcare facility. Certification
includes a preparatory stage, the phase of certification proper finalized by a professional audit,
and the stage of continuous keeping with the set standards and procedures in the healthcare
facility meeting the quality pattern of health care provided to clients of the GP's office.
The major objective of introducing the ISO quality assurance system is the establishing and
scrutiny of the patient's requirements regarding the product, i.e. health care.
