Summary:
The author draws attention to the importance of acromial part of deltoid muscle for the clinic and therapy of
functional disorders of shoulder joint. The clinical picture of most dysfunctions of shoulder joint includes
ventrocranial dislocation of humeral head in glenohumeral joint. Deltoid muscle and especially the present
trigger point in its acromial portion play a very significant role in the formation of this decentered position and
development of subsequent dysfunction in shoulder joint and the whole shoulder articulation. A removal of
this trigger point plays a pivotal role in successful subsequent kinesiotherapy.
