Summary: Cystic retrorectal tumors are rare tumors with a risk potential for a malignant growth. Their diagnostics,
location and decision on the surgical approach – abdominal, perineal or combined – are based on ultrasound, CT
and MRI examination findings. A complete removal of the neoplasm without opening the wall of the cystic tumor
is a pre-requisite for a good therapeutical result.
