Summary:
Concretions is gall bladder and biliary pathways and their complications are the most frequent diseases of
biliary pathways in adult patients. They affect 10 - 20% proportion of the population in countries entertaining
high standard of living. They belong to frequent causes of hospitalization. The occurrence at the child age is rather
rare, but is encountered more frequently in adolescents. They occur, however, in all period of life. The authors
review literature dealing with these problems and include case reports of patients with different clinical manifestations
of cholelithiasis in children of different age, who were examined and treated at the Clinic for Children and
Adolescents and theWard of Surgery at the Faculty Hospital in Královské Vinohrady, Prague.
