Summary:
Non-epileptic psychogenic seizures are an important clinical problem. The author presents the current
opinion on their etiology and discusses contemporary diagnostic options in clinical neurology, i.e.
history, neurological, psychological and psychiatric evaluation, laboratory tests and evaluation of the
patient during a seizure. He deals with the importance of video-EEG monitoring and suggestive
induction of a seizure.
