Summary:
Physiological asymmetry of body structures and body functions is known but in clinical practice it is
not always sufficiently taken into account, sometimes it is incorrectly interpreted, or even paradoxi-
cally refuted. Asymmetric involvement of paired organs and structures is essential for optimal function
of the motor system. An indispensable prerequisite for implementation of movement is posture. For
optimal function of the „dominant“ extremity it is necessary to ensure a suitable posture with
participation of the „non-dominant“ paired extremity.
