Contemporary intensive research of rhinosinusitis revealed many new facts, but many unresolved problems still persist. More information on the epidemiology of rhinitis is lacking, it is important to improve the diagnosis of rhinitis included in the group of non-allergic non-infectious rhinitis (according to consensus group for other types of rhinitis), to elaborate a more accurate therapeutic pattern of conservative treatment, in particular treatment with antibiotics, to assess the principles of collaboration of the rhinologist with the allergologist and bronchologist, obtain more information on the relationship of upper and lower airways and on possible advantages of concurrent and early treatment of the nose and bronchi.
