Summary:

       The authors present the case of a seventeen-month-old boy with congenital shortening of the right lower extremity. It is possible to establish the correct diagnosis based on the X-ray findings. MRI or arthrography show anatomic changes of the proximal femoral region, which are important for the prognosis and adequate therapy.
