Authors of this article deal with two basic artefacts - susceptibility and chemical shift, which accompany magnetic resonance imaging. Apart from a brief explanation of the physical basics of these artefacts and possible mitigation of their undesirable effects, the authors also deal with their possible diagnostical value.
