Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown aetiology. Musculoskeletal manifestations of sarcoidosis are more frequent during the acute phase of the disease, and they become rare during the chronic course. The paper presents an overview of musculoskeletal manifestations of sarcoidosis. Attention is given namely to the differential diagnosis. Diagnosis of sarcoidosis is sometimes difficult because of the histological picture of the granulomatous inflammation, which is similar to many other diseases.
