Regeneration of Parodontal Tissue Using Perio-System Combi-Pack

Stomatologická klinika LF MU a FN u sv. Anny, Brno,

Summary:

Guided tissue regeneration is based on the biological concept that states the ability of recolonization of root surface by the cells of remaining parodontium and restoration of parodontal structures if parodontal cells (desmodonts) are preferred during healing period of parodontal lesion. The effect is achieved by the insertion of physical barrier (membrane) below mukoperiostal flap and above treated parodontal defect and tooth root. In the paper presented, the application of newly-combined biomaterials (distributed as Perio-System Com- bi-Pack) is described. The biomaterials consist of a special collagen membrane Bio-Gide-Perio and enclosed paper pre-shapes that make the choice and formation of membrane shapes required for coverage of different types of parodontal defects easier. Another part of the system is an osseoconductive material Bio-Oss-Collagen. Combination of the above-mentioned mate- rials facilitates surgical treatment and regeneration of parodontal tissues.

Key words: guided tissue regeneration – physical barrier - membrane – biocompatibility
